2015 2nd Quarter Sponsorship

Welcome to our Pulse Gives Back Sponsorship Page!

We are honored to share the story of PFS’ Clients, Gina and Jeff Jones of Naperville, IL.

1967 was a BIG year of “firsts.” This year gave usthe world’s first heart transplant, Twiggy’s mini skirt, the pocket calculator, the Super Bowl, the ATM, the Rolling Stones magazine, Naperville residents welcomed the Standard Oil-Indiana Research Center and one other very significant development. Thanks to 24 energetic and generous women, Naperville Junior Woman’s Club (NJWC) was born.

United with the Mayor to support Safety Town

With first President Mary Gilver Fraley at the helm, the club began running philanthropic activities for those in need as well as support educational and cultural initiatives in the community. The members engaged with the Mayor and residents on many levels from fundraising for the homeless or financially distressed to having tea parties for Girl Scout troops to securing donations for Naperville Heritage Society. Their work did not go unnoticed and the long lasting relationship with the community helped build programs for our children such as Helping Hands, Safety Town, scholarship awards, providing Thanksgiving dinner to our Seniors at the Martin Ave. Apartment complex, and offering events like Trick or Treat, Hoppy Easter Festival, Mardi Gras & fashion shows.

With so many in need, the club is committed to fundraise and serve a variety of local charities such as Loaves & Fishes, DuPage PADS, Humanitarian Service Project, Families Helping Families, and currently KidsMatter. In 2014 alone, NJWC helped over 300 families, 1,600 children, 250 seniors, collected over 50 tons of groceries and over 50 tons of new toys dedicating their time and effort. Their goal to make lives better flows through all of their projects.

I personally became involved because I saw integrity and commitment to make a difference. I love the club’s Pledge “by living each day trying to accomplish something.” My work as a Junior has given me much comfort knowing that people do care and we can rely on each other. Keeping that message alive is why NJWC exists. Leaving a positive impact, big or small, on the community’s service footprint so the next generation can carry on is very important to us as members. NJWC continues to build a foundation for Naperville because they want to help ANYONE IN NEED experience positive moments, no matter the struggle, and possibly an even better life.
