Pulse Financial Services 2017 1st Quarter Sponsorship

Welcome to our Pulse Gives Back Sponsorship Page!

We are honored to share the story of PFS’ Clients, Bill and Jayne Denwood of Naperville, IL.

When we met in 2011, we both had a heart for mission work.  Jayne had been to Haiti and Bill to the Czech Republic.  In 2014, we married and we felt God had us on a path towards mission work as a couple.  In 2015, we met a young woman, Rosa Moraa (who is mentioned in this story), who grew up in a children’s home in Kenya.  This home is called Teule Kenya and is located in the foothills of Mount Kilimanjaro.  We were immediately moved to help this organization, later becoming board members for the USA, and led a mission team to Teule Kenya in August 2016.

Teule is currently home to approximately 108 children.  The vision of the organization is to provide a safe environment and opportunities for the children to grow and reach their full potential. We shelter, clothe, teach, feed, love, and nurture these children until they are able to go to college, university, trade school, or another occupation and become a contributing force in Kenya.

Teule was the dream of Jon Juu, who founded the organization over 20 years ago. The program’s infancy was in the streets of Nairobi, Kenya, where young men were being saved from lives on the street.  The story then changed to a more rural setting in Loitokitok where young girls were also being reached and rescued from malnutrition, early marriage, and genital mutilation. teule-2

Little by little Teule is becoming a self-sustaining community.  It sits on the top of an aquifer which has been tapped and provides fresh water to the home as well as the surrounding area. This water is used as a source of income alongside teule-3the milk from their small dairy farm.

The children learn to work together and they learn about love.  Many of the children have gone back to work with orphaned children as social workers, caretakers, and administrators.

One of Teule’s major success stories is a woman named Rosa Moraa.  Rosa was a promising student who grew up as a part of Teule and through her hard work teule-4and dedication towards studies, was accepted into The American University of Nairobi.  Throughout her time with Teule, she also grew close with her sponsors who became family from Sycamore, Illinois.  With their help, she received a scholarship to North Central College in Naperville, IL.   There she excelled through her master’s program and poured her heart into Teule USA.  Rosa has since returned to Kenya and has continued paving the way for transformation in her home country.

Please join us in supporting this great mission.  Through partnerships across the globe, we are making a small difference in Loitokitok, in Kenya, and in the world.
